In the classroom students learn: Safety rules and procedures, handgun components and functioning, ammunition basics and malfunctions, shooting fundamentals, cleaning and safe storage, legal aspects of Concealed Carry, concealment options and techniques.

On the range students learn: Range safety and shooting skills, shooting with student's personal firearm or a rental firearm, shooting at distances of 21 feet, 15 feet and 9 feet.

First Steps is an introductory course to revolvers and semi-auto pistols for beginners offering hands-on, user friendly training.

In the classroom students learn: Basic safety rules and procedures, handgun components and functioning, loading and unloading, and fundamental shooting techniques.

On the range students learn: Students practice classroom teachings through live-fire exercises using Vandalia Range & Armory pistols and revolvers at a distance of 9 feet. Range time, targets, ammunition, hearing protection and safety glasses will be provided. Students will experience fundamental shooting with calibers consisting of.22LR, .38/.357 Magnum revolver, 9mm semi-auto pistol, .45acp semi-auto pistol. View Calendar.

Vandalia Range and Armory’s S.T.A.C class will help one improve their shooting proficiency. The techniques covered are stance, hand placement, sight alignment, and trigger control. This class will be three hours in length. Classes will be held on one Saturday per month from 9am - 12pm. The cost for this class will be $75 per student.

Students will begin on our laser simulator, and then move on to the range for live firing. All targets will be furnished to students. The instructors of this course will be Steve Longo and Dee Hail.
